amend a 2021 return

1.  When is the best time to amend my 2021 return.  Right after it was accepted by both the irs and state, I caught the error.

2.  Turbo tax program will not allow me to amend the problem.  There was a return of excess income that was placed in the miscellaneous income section (per turbotax), and it needs to be deleted for 2021. How can this problem be circumvented.

Wait for your original return to be fully processed.  Sending in an amended return while the first one is still being processed can cause confusion and delays.
