Amend 1040x - Transmission didn't go through FAILED_VALIDATION

I am amending my 2021 return where I removed dependents (my parents as they actually made more money than I thought and need to file their own return). After prepping the amendment through the steps, I am consistently getting the following message. I don't know how to get around it after editing my 1040x, but would like to efile and not go through mailing it.  My app is also up to date.

The only way to submit an amended return is to mail it. If you need to enter additional information, delete something, or change something on the tax return you already filed, you have to wait until your return has been fully processed, then you can prepare an amended return, called a 1040X. You cannot e-file a 1040X. It must be printed, signed and mailed to the IRS.

After you print, sign and mail your amended return—1040X— to the IRS wait about 3 weeks and then you can begin checking on it at the IRS website. Be aware that it can take at least 3-4 months for an amended return to be fully processed (or sometimes even longer.)

you are getting a transmission failure that might clear later.

HOWEVER,

IRS won't let you e-File 1040-X when you are changing filing status, or changing dependents.

The latter rule is rather strange.

Otherwise, if you e-filed 1040, you can e-File 1040-X until Oct 15.
