All my 2019 deductions are missing when transferring to 2020

All of my deductions from 2019 have disappeared??? Everything except "Other Income Taxes" in the "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid" section has changed to $0.00.  I found this out when I transferred my info into 2020 and then when I went into the 2019 program they were gone there too? This is not filing through the online platform. I have the software installed on my Windows computer for both 2019 and 2020. My tax return that I efiled last year did have the deductions How does that happen and how can I get it back? Or do I have to enter everything again??? If this is the case, what is the purpose of doing this through TT year after year? Please help.
