Hi, My husband was SURE he changed his w-4 at work and now being told he OWES over $1,000 for not getting enough taken out? Is there ANYTHING that can be done?

What can POSSIBLY be done NOT to have to pay ALL of the taxes due,  since obviously my husband's work DID NOT change or turn in the change of the w-4 that he filled out? Is there payments that can be made to dodge having to pay it all at once?  We can't afford to pay ask of that right now and rather surprised that its owed in the first place.

Alas, he should have checked his paycheck withholding after he made the W-4 change, to be sure his payroll dept implemented it.

He can ask the IRS for an Installment Plan.
