There are a few possible reasons why you’re still getting an e-file reject.
If you:
If you’re still having trouble, we suggest that you check with the IRS to make sure that the copy of your return is the same as what they have in their records. To do this, you can order a tax return transcript.
If you’ve tried everything and nothing works, you can still file a paper return by printing out copies of your federal and state returns and mailing them. We’ll include File by Mail Instructions on where to send your returns and what forms, if any, you need to include.
I am going thru the exact same problem! I am curious about the question on AGI is asked twice when we filed a joint return.
Also, what about the 5 digit passcode. Turbo Tax transferred the number form my 2018 return. I did NOT file electronically in 2019
hoping someone can help us.
Contacting the IRS a waste of time??
thanks
Please review RayW7's post above. If you didn't e-file last year, you will need to order a free transcript of your return from the IRS Get Transcript site or you can purchase a full copy of your 2019 return to find your AGI.
Both versions will include your AGI. The 5 digit code is generated when you e-file, which in this case you didn't e-file last year.
How do I find last year’s AGI?
Thank you Ray W7.
I used your reply to receive a transcript and the IRS said they didn’t receive my 2019 return...this is despite them cashing the check attached to it.
I have sent them copies of everything....hope this clears this up. It also solves the mystery of why I hadn’t received covid relief #w2
i had never heard of being able to go online to get a tr@ncript.
Took some time due to them needing a lot of info to verify my identity but looks like it will be worth it.
THANK YOU very much.
hopefully others will see your tip!!
