Can they do this? A client who never sent me a 1099 or gave me their EIN says it's because I gave them my EIN on my W9 instead of my social security number. If I can't get their EIN I have to mail in my taxes instead of e-filing. That's what TurboTax self employed says. Can they withhold the 1099 or their EIN from me? How do I get around this?

Actually you can just enter it as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099Misc or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C. You should be keeping your own good records of your income.
Yes, and when I do that, at the end when Turbo Tax is reviewing everything, it keeps asking for their EIN even though I put it under other and as cash. It won't let me e-file without an EIN for them. Is there a way around that so I can file?
