2020 Rejected IRS return

I will suggest you to print out your tax forms and paper file to the IRS.  To see explanations, click here:

Correct AGI got rejected

As of today, form 7202 should be ready to e-file.

  • If you are using the TurboTax CD/Download software program, open TurboTax and select Check for Updates from the Online menu near the top.
  • And try again.

The AGI is calculated as follows:

  • It is equal to the total income you report that’s subject to income tax—such as earnings from your job, self-employment, dividends and interest from a bank account—minus specific deductions, or “adjustments” that you’re eligible to take.
  • Your AGI is calculated before you take the standard or itemized deductions —which you report in later sections of the return.

As far as Form 7202, to be an eligible self-employed person to qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

1. You have regularly carried on a trade or business within the meaning of section 1402. See 1402 business

2. You would have been:

A.  Eligible to receive qualified sick leave wages under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act if you had been an employee of an employer (other than yourself), and/or

B. Eligible to receive qualified family leave wages under the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act if you had been an employee of an employer (other than yourself)

2020 Rejected IRS return

Im sure you already resolved it. Mine was definitely right too. I submitted 3 times and was rejected each time. I ended up putting zero for 2019 AGI because on the IRS site they mentioned about putting zero if you filed late last year. It didn't apply to me but I tried it anyway and it worked. I think the IRS is a bit disorganized at the moment. I e-filed last year on May 1 and received my refund in December. Long story less long, put the zero.
