Hi
We did a 1031 exchange with no boot on our rental last year, and we received a 1099S from the title company.
We use form 8824 to report the exchange. Do we need to enter the 1099 S in Turbo tax? Please confirm.
Thanks
Sarah

Here is a link for reporting the 1031 exchange in TurboTax.
You must adjust for the depreciation of the new rental when you enter the new rental, TurboTax does not compute that for you.
No, you will not enter the 1099-S.

We finished the form 8824 and just received the 1099 S from the title company.
Do we need to input 1099 S in turbotax? Thanks
No, if it is included as part of the 1031 exchange you do not need to add a second entry in TurboTax. Keep all the tax documents in your tax file and any notes to help clarify should you need to in the future.
Thanks!!!
