I received a 1099 NEC - The payers Tin is in the form of a SSN but turbo tax wants an EIN or they wont finishing processing. Is this one in the same

Yes. You can choose the format. Select xxx-xx-xxx (like a social security number) and then enter the SSN this allow you to move through and process the return.
