So I’m filing a 1099 nec form but I worked for a business and there’s nowhere form me

to input the payers tin or recipients tin and this is my first time filing a 1099 form and I need a stead by step or walk through if how to do it so I don’t end up owing more money than I should

    @Ara2004, please follow the steps below and this will allow you to easily input your Form 1099-NEC:

    1. Click on Tax Home from the Left Side Menu once you login to your account.
    2. Then Click on Wages & Income from main screen.
    3. Then you will see a list of different Income options. Scroll down till you see the section titled "Other Common Income". Expand this section and within this section you will see an option for "Form 1099-NEC". Click on Start next to it.
    4. Then it will ask you if you received a 1099-NEC. Click on Yes. Then you should see a page titled "Let's get the info from your 1099-NEC". Then you can refer to your Form 1099-NEC and input all the information.

    You don't need to enter the recipients Tin. However, to add the payers tin, there will be a question on the screen which states "How is your payer's federal ID number formatted". You will see two options with different formatting. You can refer to your Form 1099-NEC to see how it is formatted and select the relevant option and then input the Tin number.
