business name is too long for the box. When I get ready to e-file ,the full name does not appear as I entered it.
How do I reduce font size??? I'm using TT Business for Windows and e-filing 1099s

The full name is immaterial ... reduce it in some way or just enter all the letters until you run out of space. The only thing that needs to be correct on that form is the 9 digit EIN.

Thank you.
Before I hit e-file, does this generate the 1096 to submit to IRS and a copy sent electronically to tthe recipient? I don't see the 1096 when I click print.
If not, how do you e-file the 1096?
In QEF when you click on the EFILE option the forms are sent to the IRS or the SSA depending on which forma are filed and YOU need to print off the forms to issue to the employee or sub contractor.
Yes Quick Employer Forms only supports e-filing of the forms with the IRS and Social Security Administration. 1096 and Copy A of the Form 1099 and W-2 are only used for e-filing and are not provided for printing.

But it ONLY shows the 1099-NEC for the recipient when I get to screen "Verify Form" to e-file. No 1096 form for IRS.
It seems like a 1096 isn't generated unless "state income and taxes withheld" - but that doesn't apply.
The 1096 and Copy A of the Form 1099 and W-2 are only used for e-filing and are not provided for printing... probably to keep you from sending them in again by mail.
Thank you critter & volvo girl !!
It's just very confusing because TT says it's e-filing 1099-NEC - nothing about 1096 or that by e-filing the 1099-NEC it automatically reports 1096 to IRS. I assume I will have no copy of the 1096 to print or save for my records. And there's no instruction to print and mail hard copy to recipient. The way the instructions read, the 1099 NEC is e-filed (doesn't have to be printed/mailed to recipient) and that a 1096 is not -e-filed or copy provided for tax preparer.
I don't know if you are both with Intuit, but the instructions need to be a lot clearer.
In the QEF tool are FAQs that answer all the questions you asked ... I think they are clear the way they are and always have been ... we see very few questions on that issue here. https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/faq.htm#WhereIsCopyA
