1099-MISC income showing up in wrong state

I recorded what state it was earned in but program is showing it only in my resident state. Most of it was earned in non-resident state.

Your earnings are always taxable to your home state, unless it has a reciprocal agreement with the state where it is earned. Depending on your income, check the non-resident state's Dept of Revenue to see if you are required to file there.

1099-MISC income showing up in wrong state

Using TurboTax for past 3 years now, I have paid state tax to California (place where I work and earn as a consultant) for the money I have earned in that state. Tax on the balance of my income is paid to my home state. However, in this year's return, all income is showing under home state and none in California.

You should enter information for non-resident state first.

What do you mean enter for non-resident state first? I completed my federal return the same way I always do, entering all income for both myself and my husband. Do I somehow need to start over? If so, how will I receive credit for the 2nd state fee I already paid?

Do you need the exact amount? If not, all of my business income, except for $9000, was from my work in California.

As a NC resident you get a credit for taxes paid to CA. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.ncdor.gov/taxes/individual-income-tax/credit-income-tax-paid-another-state-or-country">h...>. As a nonresident of CA, you must pay taxes on your income derived from CA. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.ftb.ca.gov/individuals/faq/ivr/210.shtml">https://www.ftb.ca.gov/individuals/faq/ivr/210...>. In Turbotax, for most state, you file the nonresident state and then the resident state.
