I'm getting this error on a 1099-INT for interest on a personal loan.
The payer is an individual and the TIN number is their SSN, which starts with a zero. It is a valid SSN and is the correct SSN for this individual.
For some reason, Turbotax does not like the zero at the beginning of the SSN. If I change this initial zero to any other digit, the error goes away.
I am unable to eFile my return without fixing this error. What can I do? Should I just change the the TIN to a different number? It *seems* that it is used only on my local Turbotax worksheet and is not actually included on the actual return that will be submitted to the IRS, but I'm not 100% sure about that...
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you are correct that the TIN is not actually needed for Efiling. Try leaving that field blank, or, as you suggested, enter another digit besides 0.
