Question on Medical Expenses

I see on my 1040 that there is a deduction for medical expenses.  Should that dedution be there?

You can make deductions for medical expenses, but it's not required. Sometimes, it won't even effect your overall outcome. There's some things that can be deducted, and others than cannot. There's a breakdown of those in this handy guiide:
