Work Office Garage

We have a paid office garage. Monthly garage payment is deducted from my paycheck. HR saying it is tax-deductible but it doesn't show up on W-2 because should be claimed on tax forms. Doesn't sound right to me. Please confirm. I thought union dues and parking/garage are not tax deductible since the tax cuts act.

Prior to The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA) there were tax deductions for employers to provide parking to employees, but that was eliminated.  There was not, and still isn't a tax deduction for parking at your place of work if you are an employee.  The parking fees deducted from your paycheck are not tax deductible.

Thanks! That's what I thought. Sad to hear misinformation from HR payroll professional.
