Why do the federal medical expenses not transfer to Wisconsin schedule for line 4 amount?

TurboTax will transfer medical expenses to the Wisconsin section even if you are using the federal standard deduction.
I am unsure what “line 4” you are referencing. Medical expenses will transfer to line 1 of Schedule 1. If your WI itemized deductions are smaller than your WI standard deduction, then TurboTax will give you the state standard deduction.
The amount from 1040SR schedule A line 4 does not transfer correctly to Wisconsin worksheet for medical care line 4. Why not?
OP means Line 4 of Schedule A of Form 1040.
Actually, Line 1 of Federal Schedule A (the gross Medical) should transfer. since the allowable amount for WI is different than Federal. But the State uses Federal Schedule A, Line 1 (not Line 4) as its starting point
See page 16 here:
Actually, there seems to be an issue with TurboTax transferring the correct amount from 1040 Schedule A line 4 to the Wisconsin Form 1, Smart Worksheet to determine the itemized deduction for Medical Care Insurance. The amount from the Schedule A line 4 should be transferred to the Smart Worksheet Line 4. The calculated amount should then be transferred to Wisconsin Part II Itemized Deductions, Line A, Column II. I have no idea where TT is getting the amount it's placing on the Worksheet line 4.
