The amount of the credit is listed on your 1040 line 19.
If your tax is zero'ed out and there is still credit left, that will be listed on line 28 as the Additional Child Tax Credit.
The credit does not always come to you as a full refund if it is first applied to tax you owe
To View Your 1040 in TurboTax Online
Click TAX TOOLS on the left side-bar
Click TOOLS from the drop-down
Select “View Tax Summary” on the Tools Center screen
Click on “Preview My 1040” which now appears on the left side-bar

for 2022 the rules for the credit were substantially changed. there are two parts to the credit. the non-refundable portion which can only reduce your tax to zero and the refundable portion which is the lesser of the unused portion (limited to $1500) of the regular credit or 15% of earned income in excess of $2500. look at form 8812 but most likely you don't qualify for the refundable portion.
