Why is it that during the review, it shows $0 for form 4684 (natural disaster), even though I entered $3350? Everything is entered correctly. This is for 2024.

Why is it that during the review, it shows $0 for form 4684 (natural disaster), even though I entered $3350? Everything is entered correctly. This is for 2024.

Since this is an online forum, it's hard to determine exactly what is happening.  
 

I recommend following the instructions in this link to ensure you have entered the information in the correct area of TurboTax.  Also, in order to claim a deduction, it must meet the requirements of being declared a federally declared disaster as outlined in this link.

your post is from the free edition which does not include form 4684. you would have to upgrade.

 

what is the FEMA code it would have DR or EM and a 4 digit number. not all disasters are qualified federal disasters, if not, first your loss is reduced by $100 then by 10% of your federal adjusted gross income

 

if it's not a federally declared disaster there is no deduction except for business property. 

also make sure the proper section is completed
