Why get Recovery rebate credit in 2021 if full time student with no paid job in 2019 and 2020

Turbo tax is saying my son gets a Recovery rebate credit because he did not receive any stimulus payments. He did not receive them because he graduated college in 2020 and had been doing unpaid internships until he got his first paid job in 2021. Should he be given this tax credit? If not, how do I fix it to where he doesn't receive it in Turbo Tax.

If he is not being claimed as a dependent, then he is eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit of $1,400 on his 2021 tax return.  The credit is based on his 2021 tax return.

He is not being claimed as a dependent in 2021, but he was in 2020. Does that make a difference?

Thanks so much! He will be thrilled to know he finally gets some kind of stimulus credit after getting nothing these last couple of years.
