Why does it say I claimed EIC? I have no children to claim.
I have no children to claim. Why EIC? I didn't want that.

Why does it say I claimed EIC? I have no children to claim.
You can still qualify for the EIC without having children. See the following
if you do not have a qualifying child, you must:
o be age 25 but under 65 at the end of the year
o not qualify as a dependent of another person, and
o live in the United States for more than half the year

Maximum Credit Amounts
The maximum amount of credit for Tax Year 2016 is:
$6,269 with three or more qualifying children
$5,572 with two qualifying children
$3,373 with one qualifying child
$506 with no qualifying children
if you do not have a qualifying child, you must:

o not qualify as a dependent of another person, and
o live in the United States for more than half the year
