Home improvements are not normally reported on a tax return, there are no tax breaks for remodeling unless it was done on a rental or as an energy efficient improvement.

It is my own personal home, purchase as a first time home buyer. It is a traditional shingled roof. So the only thing I can list are the new windows correct?

However, if you invest in certain types of solar roofing equipment like solar roofing tiles and shingles which serve as both a form of solar electric generation and traditional roofing, such investments can qualify for the credit."
