Medical expenses paid through an HSA are not deductible - funds in an HSA have already been exempted from tax and you can't claim a deduction when the item is paid for with tax-free funds.

"Out of pocket" implies you used after-tax funds to pay for the medical expense and you can deduct those costs.

What form or area in the program are you looking at?

@laskowski4624 - you can't 'double dip', meaning the same dollar can't be used twice.  the expenses that run through the HSA can not be deducted as an itemized deduction because it was already paid with pre-tax dollars.  That would constitute 'double dipping' if you could deduct the same expenses that was paid with a pre-tax dollar.
