Never heard of it. Where is it asking for it? Did you make a QCD from a IRA?
I think the church is right. I never heard of a charitable giving code. Where exactly in TurboTax is it asking you for a charitable giving code? Is it in the federal tax return or the state tax return? If it's in the state, what state? What is the exact question, word for word? Can you post a screen shot?
There is no charitable giving code. And you do not need their Tax ID to enter a donation to your church. You can just go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Charitable Donations>Donations to Charity in 2022
State of MI asks for code. I used F a gift to Charity for a gift to a church for the whole distribution. Is this correct?
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
What kind of return are you doing?
You mention the state of Michigan, but is this an individual return, a business return, a trust, or something else?
