W2 Health Insurance-Taxable Wages

I pay health insurance and dental premiums to my employer. They are deducted from my pay every check. I thought what I pay should reduce Box 1/Wages, Tips, Other Comp on my W2 because they should be pretax. I work for a hospital. Does anyone have insight as to if this is a mistake? At previous employers my pre tax deductions would reduce my taxable income.

Some employers will give you the option to choose from pre-tax or post tax deductions. Some employers will have either/or. Please contact your employer for clarification on what type of health insurance coverage they offer, and into which one you have been enrolled.
