W2 Box 12, code W: I contribute to HSA through payroll, twice a month. They are all my contribution, not my employer, how to fix it in Form 8889?

It is correct to use code W in W2 Box 12, however, this is all my own contribution, total amount should all go to Form 8889 Question 2. Turbo tax can't help.

No amount contributed through your employer is to be included on Form 8889 line 2 as a personal contribution.  All amounts deposited by your employer whether taken from your paycheck or not are to be included on line 9 because they were not included in your wages on line 1 of your W-2.

Personal contributions that are includible on line 2 are only those that you deposited into the HSA yourself without involving your employer.  If you made no such deposits, leave blank the amount when asked if you made any personal contributions.

You do not need to fix it.

If it is on your W-2, the contributions were made THROUGH your employer, that does not mean your employer paid, only that it is listed on your W-2.

Thanks! I understand there is no need to fix W2. But the amount listed in Form 8889 Line 2 does not truly reflect my total contribution and ER contribution in line 9 is way higher. Don't know how to fix in Turbo Tax.
