Vehicle Expense is Missing on TT Business

Hi,

I am using Turbo Tax Business 2024 and I need to deduct business mileage. For some reasons, there is no vehicle expense under Business Expenses. Can you please tell where is it now?

You can get to vehicle expenses in TurboTax Business by clicking on the "Federal Taxes" tab and then clicking on "Deductions" and then scrolling down to "Vehicle Expenses."

I found it at the bottom of the "Your Deductions" page under "Items you can skip" in TurboTax Business, but depending on how you answered questions in your TurboTax program about your business, you may find it under "Business Expenses".

Wow. Thank you so much. I’m not sure if there’s still items at the bottom page of deductions page but I’m gonna try and look again.

These are what I have at the bottom. I've answered 'Yes' on all questions related to vehicles on Business Information but the vehicle expense still is not showing up. Let me keep looking. Thank you.

The Deductions page may be different, depending on what type of return you are preparing in TurboTax Business. The easiest way to find an entry section is to use "Show Topic List" in the top black header. Or go to Tools >> Topic List.

For a partnership Form 1065 return. look for "Auto and Truck Expenses".

For an S-Corp Form 1120S return, look for "Vehicle expenses".

I did go to Topic List - then I clicked the Business Deductions - Form 1065 and/or Partners Deductions. Either of the two takes me to Deductions - Enter Independent Contractor Payment. Please see attached photo below.

For the 1065 follow these steps:

1. Click Federal Taxes
2. Click Deductions
3. Scroll down to Business Expenses
4. Click Auto and truck expenses (See Screenshot below)
