Turbotax is recommending to take my itemized deductions, but its less than the standard deduction?!?!

Turbo tax has this same problem in 2018, 2019, 2020 !!!

I will stop using Turbotax. This is a bug Turbotax can not fix and keeps asking me to upgrade and pay more when I called....

I have used TurboTax for past 15 years...it is getting worse. Time to leave

The alternative minimum tax would allow itemized deductions but limit them due to income and deductions. You will see a form 6251 in your return.

For 2021 taxes, I've discovered that TurboTax recommends the Standard Deduction of $25,100 because my Itemized Deductions are $23,000.  By accident I discovered that when I chose Itemized Deductions (against the recommendation), my AMT tax went DOWN by about 4,000 which reduced my overall tax due.  Might be worth trying both ways if you're paying AMT.
