Where?  Are you allowing for the floor?

You can only deduct the amount of unreimbursed Medical Expenses you actually paid over 7.5% of your AGI.  And then all your itemized deductions have to be more than the standard deduction to get any benefit (so you would only be getting the benefit of the amount that puts you over the standard deduction).  And since the Standard Deduction is increased more people will not need to Itemize.

Thank you for the detailed reply. The amount shown on Scheduler's A line 1 (amount before the limitation) is less than the sum of all the individual amounts I've entered for things like prescriptions, medical and dental expenses, etc. Double checked my calculations.

Does the total on the Medical Expenses Worksheet match the amount on Line 1 of Schedule A?

Yes. But the sum of the my individual entries is greater than the total shown on the worksheet and Schedule A. It's only a couple hundred dollars but I'd like to figure out what I'm missing.

TT isn't totaling my medical deductions correctly. It's underreporting the total amount. Explanation?

Spent 30 minutes on the phone with a TT expert. He finally figured out the answer by looking through diagnostics on my file. There is a cap on the amount of my Long Term Care premiums that are deductible and therefore the total was reduced. Too bad there is no visibility in the form that highlighted this. Good to know if someone else runs into this. Thanks to all for trying to help.
