I noticed this while reviewing Form 1116 in the print preview. In the Credits section on the page "Any foreign source qualified dividends or long term capital gains?" the total foreign income shown is double what I would expect.
My foreign earned income is $132,462 I excluded $105,900. I would expect the "Total foreign income in this category" to be $26,562. It is exactly 53,124 in this interview question and in form 1116. I'm using the online version. What's going on?

I realized after reviewing the interview steps for the Nth time the note on NOT adding income already entered for form 2555, foreign income exclusion. I added it erroneously in the "other income" step so it was counted twice.
I'm glad you found it. It should be listed as "passive income" on the Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit.
