The program wants to give me the standard deduction when the itemized deductions is more how do I solve this issue ?

Typically that occurs because you are looking at the deductions you entered rather than the amount you're actually allowed to deduct.  Medical expense, for example, only creates a deduction for the amount of expense in excess of 10% of your adjusted gross income (7.5 % if 65 or older.)  There are other limited deductions.  

You can look at your Schedule A to see what your deductions would actually total up to.  

Click on Forms in the upper right, then click on the schedule A to open it.  

If no Schedule A appears in your Forms list, click on the Open Form icon right above the list of forms in your return. 

Type Schedule A in the entry field right at the top then click on the  words  Schedule A that appear just below..  


You can certainly call Support if you want but you will have to start here in order to get the correct number for your question.

If you're using the TurboTax CD/Download software or can't sign into your account, click here to contact us. Ask your question, click Continue, and follow our onscreen instructions.
