Child Tax Credit - Death of child

Was a terrible year this year...  I believe a child that dies during the year still qualifies for all of the credits/live with you the whole year, but TT says I do not qualify for the Child Tax Credit.  I might not be understanding though..  I did enter dependant info with SSN and said "lived whole year"?

Child Tax Credit - Death of child

Sorry for your loss. Yes the correct way to answer how many months a child lived with you who was born or died during the year it to answer the whole year. Are you claiming the dependency exemption for the child and does it say dependent beside the child's name in Personal Info. Also would the child have been under age 17 at year end? The child tax credit is only for a child for which the dependency exemption is claimed and who would have been under the age of 17 at year end.

Thanks mate.  Kept digging in and I think the issue is with AGI amount.  Wish TT would just calculate that for you.

AGI too high?
Child tax credit may be phased out for taxpayers whose adjusted gross income is above the limit for your filing status.
The limits are:
$110,000 for married filing jointly
$75,000 for single or head of household
$55,000 for married filing separately
The credit is reduced $50 for every $1000 of income (or part thereof) over the limit.
