I currently and paying for classes for cancer registry through AHIMA. I dont pay for tuition, just for thr class itself. Can I file that on my taxes?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Money paid for these classes do not count as qualified education expenses for the education credits.
The cost cannot be claimed on your personal tax return.
If you have a business, they can be deducted as a business expense if the courses contribute to maintain or improve your skills in your current business.
Even if the classes are for me to get certified?
Correct. A course for a certification is not eligible for education credits. You have to be seeking a degree in order for it to apply for a credit.
