I receive SSDI and have no additional income. Do my out of pocket medical expenses qualify as a deduction? I have not filed a tax return since being on disability, as it has been my only source of income. I have had significant medical expenses in 2022 and 2023. Should I file a tax return?

You can only deduct medical expenses if you itemize. It sounds like your income is low enough that you might not have a tax liability so those expenses wouldn’t matter.
If you only get SS or SSDI it is not taxable and you don't have to file a return. And if you have zero taxable income there is nothing to deduct expenses from.
