Sold a second home. TT is asking "Enter the name of the person or financial institution that brokered this sale". What does that mean? The lawyers? The realtor? Me?

If you received Form 1099-S,enter the Filer's name.  Use the title company if you didn't receive Form 1099-S.

 

"For sales or exchanges of certain real estate, the person responsible for closing a real estate transaction must report the real estate proceeds to the IRS ."

 

Refer to the IRS instructions for transferer on Instructions for Form 1099-S for more information,

If you received Form 1099-S,enter the Filer's name.  Use the title company if you didn't receive Form 1099-S.
