Unfortunately, the federal tax credit for qualified energy-saving home improvements expired in 2016 and is no longer available for 2017, with two exceptions: solar water heaters and solar energy systems. You can still get credits for these on your federal taxes.

If this was a rental property, then you may be able to deduct the new garage door and insulation.

so how do I downgrade back to plus from deluxe as it wont help my situation?
