Should there be an option to apply the situation of being in the Hurricane Ian disaster Area as per the announcement on the IRS site for FL-2022-19, September 29, 2022?

How can this be reflected on my tax filing? The Florida Hurricane Ian is not listed as one of the Qualified Areas.

Enter the FEMA code for Hurricane Ian in TurboTax (DR-4673-FL) to claim your hurricane loss.

To claim a casualty loss in TurboTax:

  1. Type "casualty loss" in Search in the upper right
  2. Select "Jump to casualty loss"
  3. On Did you have anything damaged or stolen in 2022? say YES
  4. On Casualty or Theft Event, enter your description and date and select Property Type, then Continue
  5. Select This event qualifies as a Federally declared major qualified disaster loss, then Continue
  6. On Enter your FEMA disaster code, select DR
  7. Enter the full code DR-4673
