I work part-time as a ski instructor and incur a fair amount of expenses including equipment, lodging, certification and annual membership fees, etc. Are these deductible?

Seasonal Ski Intructor with W2 -- Are Expenses Deductible?

W-2 employees cannot deduct any job-related expenses on a federal return, per the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond.  Your state laws may be different.

Thanks for that info.

Are lodging or meal expenses deductible if I'm working away from my home (i.e., I need to travel away from my state to teach)?
