where on the form do I claim the money that is in my savings account?

You only claim the interest on the money that is in your savings account. To enter your interest reported to you on a 1099-INT in TurboTax, follow the directions below:

Select Federal Taxes (Personal if using TurboTax Self-Employed or Home and Business)
Select Wages & Income (I'll choose what i work on)
You may need to click on Skip to see all income
Scroll down to Interest and Dividends
Click on Show more and then Interest on1099-INT
