I am getting this message: "Because your modified adjusted gross income is $139,870, only $1,650 of your $6,000 contribution is allowed."
Everything I can find says that $144,000 is the threshold before you can't max a Roth IRA. I am a single filer in my mid-30s. I am very confused why Turbotax is giving me the message as it seems inaccurate. Does someone have an answer to this?

Yes, once your MAGI is $144,000 for a single filing status then you cannot make any Roth IRA contributions. But your Roth contributions will be already reduced when your MAGI is between $129,000 and $144,000. Please see Amount of Roth IRA Contributions That You Can Make for 2022 for details.
Please see What happens if I made an excess Roth IRA contribution for options to fix the excess contributions. Please keep in mind if you remove the excess contribution then the earnings will be taxable in 2022 and increase your MAGI therefore you might have to remove a bit more than the current excess contribution.
6000 - 1650 = 4350. is the exact amount for your current MAGI.
$4,350 is not enough if your $6,000 has had any earnings.
the safest course is to ask for the entire $6,000 plus earnings to be returned.
