Greetings,
The IRS issues a $9K refund check to me and my spouse several months ago, which never arrived at our residence. We completed a 3911 twice in the 6 months following the issuance, but the check was never located. We are not able to get the IRS on the phone. Recorded communications and letters from the IRS direct us to complete another 3911. Is there anything we can do to resolve this matter, exiting this revolving door? Would a tax pro be able to reach them where we can't? Is it likely that the $9K will be applied to/against the next years' tax refund/bill.
Thanks.

Bsch4477,
Thanks very much!
I got through to someone from the advocate service. It turns out both the forms I submitted over the last 6-7 months had not even been processed, the advocate informed. The same advocate did process our request to research the whereabouts of the check. So, at least we are in the system and can get through to someone about the refund.
Much appreciated.
