Hi! I accidentally checked the "can be claimed as a dependent" on my 2019 return, so I submitted an amended return. I started filing my 2020 return and it asked if I received a stimulus check. I said no, and it estimated a total refund of $1200 (the amount from the first stimulus). Will it add in the $600 too? Because I am entitled to both which I have not received.

The program needs to be updated. We don't know when it will be fixed, but the IRS won't open e-filing until at least January 27, so you don't need to rush. Make sure to review that section again before you file.
Will the refund amount update automatically when the system updates, or do I need to re-do that section?

You will have to re-do that section after the update.
Ok will we be notified when it updates, or do I have to just keep trying it?

It should be available after the IRS finalizes the Form 1040

In the past, Turbotax has not sent email notifications when forms were ready, although that would probably be a good idea. I would check every Friday morning. In past years, most updates happened Thursday evening, if I remember correctly, although there are sometimes off-cycle updates.
Ok so Jan 7th is the correct one?
@Opus 17 A user can sign up for email notifications when the forms or schedules are available. In the Review section below the list of forms/schedules not yet ready is a link - I want to sign up for email notifications.

January 7 is the expected date of the first update, but no one on this board will know that for sure until it happens. It also might happen in the morning or evening. The IRS will not open e-filing until at least January 27, and this year it is more important than ever to not be in a rush to file.
