I have the same questioin - Line 29a is for an electric heat pump with qualifying efficiency - this is a max $2,000 credit - not $300
The Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits for tax year 2023 has not yet been finalized in TurboTax.
The Form 5695 is scheduled to be available in TurboTax on 01/31/2024 (subject to change).
Go to his TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Glad i found this.. same here.. $300 is wrong and a huge miss. Why are you letting people fill out this section is its wrong- really really wrong.
on top of that, your support just told me it was correct and i would have to upgrade to get tax advise so they can explain to me why its right
Shame on turbo tax for allowing this to stay on site like this.. at least put warning telling people it isn't ready yet.
Oh and also, its missing the home energy credit assessment line/credit too!
Previous solution does not appear to work. I suspect given that the IRS has just produced the 2023 form 5695 and only has produced a draft version of the instructions a couple days ago for said form, all because the "up to $2000" tax credit for an electric heat pump is new as of 2023, TurboTax has not yet had the opportunity to add the software to the system to guide us from our investment to the tax credit. I am going to give the company at least a few weeks to get this done. In the meantime, the system probably takes us to the line on the 2022 form, thus only giving a $300 credit.
...and note that the requirement for that big credit requires the heat pump satisfy particularly high efficiency standards both for heating and cooling.
That is correct. The Form 5695 is not yet ready to be filed with TurboTax.

When will my individual tax forms be available in TurboTax?
I can't find it either and have searched and tried all the answers I have found online.
I tried Energy-Efficient Building Property but that did not make any change and I know there is supposed to be a tax credit. Hopefully someone will have the answer.

I got an email saying this form is ready.. but it still doesn't work
I read somewhere that the files update Wednesdays overnight. So it should be ready tomorrow morning.

Yes it is functioning now for me too. I was able to get the $600 max for the high efficiency furnace. However I had to search a bit and ultimately drill into the deduction selection that is titled for "Boilers" to find that behind that selection, they further describe that it is for Boilers and Furnaces. TT should probably better title that deduction selection to feature furnaces. That would probably be the majority of tax payers purchases vs. boilers. Hope everyone is set now. Looking forward to the update for entry of K-1's to continue to complete the return. Supposedly next week
