When I try to enter my Child and Dependent Tax Credit info it just takes me back to the "Your tax breaks" page and does not let me enter any info.

When I try to enter my Child and Dependent Tax Credit info it just takes me back to the "Your tax breaks" page and does not let me enter any info. It asks me if we were full-time student, disabled or none of the above, when I hit continue it does not allow my to enter our childcare information for preschool or daycare.

To continue in the Dependent Care interview, each of you must be

1. have earned income, or

2. be disabled, or

3. be a fulltime student.

The last time I saw this (quite recently), the taxpayer entering the W-2s accidentally marked both of them as belonging to the same person.

Note that TurboTax does not key off the person's name on the W-2, but a small checkbox at the top of the W-2 data entry screen, where it says, "This W-2 belongs to: (name) or (name)". This is easy to miss.

Go back and make sure that you indicated that the W-2s belong to two different people.
