My husband and I are filing separately and got a house in 2020. The mortgage is under his name. Do I still enter the 1098 form or say that we got a house?

We equally contribute to the mortgage each month and split the down payment through a shared account

No, only the person who is both liable and pays the debt can claim the mortgage. He will only be able to claim what he pays. You do not need to enter anything regarding the house, unless you are also on the deed, paid and want to claim real estate taxes.
