Mortgage Interest not transferring to Schedule

I had 4 different 1099 INT on my primary (only) home in 2019. I added them all individually and the total interest is over $15,000. With my state taxes added (limited to $10,000) that is over the standard deduction not counting any other deductions i have.

When i continue the rest of my taxes i am still at the standard deduction (married Joint). When i look at the schedule A all my other deductions are there but my mortgage interest is zero.... The program wont let me over ride this.

Any suggestions? Using other tax programs it went right over.

Since i paid for turbo tax and an additional state, i want to use Turbo tax...

Makes no sense

Here is where the problem was.... this Form is "Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet" (Tax & Int Wks)

The Yes was checked and the blacked out line was 0.00, once i checked the No box the interest amount was populated

Everything is good now

Are you using TurboTax Online, or the Desktop (CD/Download) platform?  I'm asking because other users in the Desktop program have had a similar issue.

And did you enter each of your 4 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements separately?  I'm linking you to instructions below.

How do I handle multiple 1098 mortgage forms?

Yes i am using the desktop version of Turbo tax Deluxe. I was on the phone with their support staff for an Hour last night and finally got it resolved. The problem was a check box was checked indicating that i had limited mortgage deduction. once changed everything worked as expected. I am not home right now but i will send you a screen when i get home to show what form it was on.

Why that box was incorrectly checked, I have no idea.

Yes i did enter each 1098 separately and answered the questions accordingly. I also deleted all of them and re-entered the 1098's, no change. Never did i check a box that my interest deductions be limited. My mortgage is 350k, no where near the 750k threshold for limiting.

I will send a what form it was on tonight.

You saved me! After spending hours trying to figure out why my daughter's mortgage interest wasn't transferring to her schedule A. I found your post and she had done the same thing. Thank you for taking the time to post the answer

I just had the same issue with the mortgage interest getting limited. This really helped. Looks like a Bug TT needs to address.

This is currently a known issue in Turbo Tax that the developers are currently working on.  in the meantime, this Turbo Tax link has some helpful suggestions for you to try and see if they work.

Mortgage Interest not transferring to Schedule

Hi there, I am having the same problem - where do I find the list of forms? I have looked through the left hand menu and am not seeing a Forms option. Where does everyone else see it?

@grogers2 Here's a link to TurboTax federal forms proposed availability dates:

Dave, that link didn’t work. Could you resend as I am having the same issue with my mortgage interest not pulling over from my schedule?

I have gone back to relocate the link and it appears it has been removed. I cannot access it through the containment sites or through our development investigations teams. I apologize !!
