Checking this resource will verify your filing requirement: 2019 Form 4884 Pension Schedule Instructions bottom of page 15, retirement benefits deduction limits based on age as well as type of pension.

I have been trying to complete my Michigan State 1040 and it tells me that the form 4884 is coming.  I called Michigan IRS and they said they don't what the problem is the form 4884 is available and it is TurboTax problem.  Turbo Tax get this fixed for over two weeks I have been waiting and I am at the point of never buying your progam again and filing with another software.  My brother in law filed his taxes with your free download and it went through and is in the hands of the state right now.  So what is your problem.  Fix it.  I filed last year using Turbo Tax for 2019 and when I looked at my forms that form is there.  Someone get off their duff and fix it.  Very unahappy customer.

You don't know what your are talking about, I need to have my taxes completed and you TurboTax is holding it  up at the end of my state it says that form 4884 is coming soon.  What is your problem.  The state says it is available.  I filed last year using turbo (or terrible tax) tax program and had no trouble.  Fix it.

Yes, you are correct, check 2020 Michigan Forms availability for the most recent updates.

Keep in mind the IRS will begin receiving returns February 12, 2021. The State of Michigan does require the Federal Form 1040 Adjusted Gross Income as the starting point to complete the return and although the forms for many States might be available, the actual processing of the returns will not even begin until this date.

Regarding the pension schedule itself, for your reference: 2019 MI-10140 Instructions Form 4884-Pension Schedule begins on page 51.
