For car registration tax in MN, I have the registration tax of $35, and a wheelage tax of $20. Are both deductible?

In Minnesota, you can deduct the Registration Tax you paid on your vehicles. The wheelage tax does not qualify as it is not based on the value of the vehicle. Your car registration fee is deductible if it’s a yearly fee based on the value of your vehicle, and you itemize your deductions.
You can’t deduct the total amount you paid, only the portion of the fee that’s based on your vehicle’s value. In this case, the $35.
Where do I enter my car registration fees?
Neither are deductible.
The first $35 of your Minnesota vehicle registration TAX is NOT deductible. No other fees that are part of the registration are deductible. Well, unless the vehicle is used for business purposes and you are using the Actual Expense method for business vehicle deductions.
