Hello,
I support my mother to almost the fullest, until she receives her Disability. Its pending right now, so in the meantime I pay all her rent, which is 800+, and I drive her to all her appointments and try my best to cover anything her Medicaid cant. Which, I mainly pay co-pays, medications co-pays, and things such as her Cain, her Walker and other similar items. Sometimes food, but only when her food stamps can't deliver for the entire month, they do give her a decent amount, however near the end of the month I have to pick up some lose ends. Otherwise, I fully support her, and live with her. I have been doing this since 2018, but apparently I wasn't eligible for head of household last year.
My question is, does she fall under Dependant? And would I receive a tax credit for her? Just making sure I am filing correctly.

If she qualifies as your qualified relative -- and it sounds like she probably does-- you get the $500 credit for other dependents.
WHO CAN I CLAIM AS A DEPENDENT?
You can claim a child, relative, friend, fiance (etc.) as a dependent on your 2019 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:
Qualifying child
• They are related to you.
• They cannot be claimed as a dependent by someone else.
• They are a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
• They are not filing a joint return with their spouse.
• They are under the age of 19 (or 24 for full-time students).
• They live with you for more than half the year (exceptions apply).
Qualifying relative
• They don't have to be related to you (despite the name).
• They cannot be claimed as a dependent by someone else.
• They are a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
• They are not filing a joint return with their spouse.
• They lived with you the entire year.
• They made less than $4200 (not counting Social Security)
• You provided more than half of their financial support. More info
When you add someone as a dependent, we'll ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim them.

Just be aware that her Medicaid benefits could be impacted by the support that you are providing her.
