New user of TT Online and I can not find this answer. I have a federal carryover to 2021 for my deductible state tax. I can not find a way to enter this into TT for the current year. Thank you!

Please clarify.
Apparently, it was from the deductible portion (maybe 80%) of the federal ES#4 for 2020 made in mid-January of 2021. So it is not the pre-payment itself, per se. (And the fact that the dollar amounts did not align -- deduction carryover did not equal the ES payment -- made it hard to identify the origin.) At least this is how my accountant (eventually) explained it. I do not need it for 2021 tax year and it will not carry forward any further so I guess I can just ignore it.
Thank you for posting a response. Just to clarify, your account said it does not need to be entered on your 2021 income tax return, correct?
Initially, I thought it might be your 2020 refund amount(s) being "applied" to the tax year 2021. Please see this TurboTax FAQ: How do I get credit for a 2020 refund applied to 2021's taxes?
No, as I said, it is not prepayment (i.e., a "credit"). It is a deduction based on some large fraction of the dollar-amount of the ES#4.
And yes, accountant said it does matter for tax year 2021 and it should be carried forward to this year but it just so happens that it will not help this year (because of the $10,000 limit). And it only carries forward for one year so there are no tax consequences when TT will not let me enter it.
This may be my first and last year with TT. We are a simple scenario (only W-2s and 1099s) but the "questionnaire-based" approach is really inflexible -- and you can not even tell that you took an exit ramp. And the number of issues that can not be resolved -- this, entering prior Form 8606 data, interpreting foreign tax credit, and a few others -- does not inspire confidence.
