Form 8962 line 2b

I'm using the online version and there's no place to enter dependent income for Form 8962 line 2b. Other posts would indicate this is a bug. When is it getting fixed?

Once logged in to your TurboTax Online account:

  • Select “Take me to my return”.
  • Click “Tax Tools” in the left menu column.
  • Select "Tools".
  • Click "Topics Search"
  • Type 8962.  When you should see 8962 highlighted, click the "Go" button to begin the interview process.  You'll be able to review and/or edit any entries, including dependent AGI, during this process.

That doesn't work with the online version. There's also no interview question. So no workaround at the moment.

as usual, this information is not correct.  form 8962 never comes up.  turbo tax has not resolved this problem but they keep saying they have.

They actually did yesterday. The interview now asks for dependent income when you fill out the 1095a

no, it doesn't

It did for me in the free online version

it's definitely not resolved the way it should be but I did find a work around.  go to your 1095-A and click on the pencil.  then you may have to lie and say one of your dependents is filing their own return (which certainly doesn't apply to my 3 and 1 year olds).  this will allow you to enter a zero for line 2b and it will ultimately edit your 8962 form and make it eligible for re-filing
